Ski for Nature
Ski for Nature is our series of sustainable winter tourism development projects. We started ski for nature in the year 2001 with a scientific expedition to Iceland Sea to Sky, followed by an ongoing engagement in the Californian High Sierra from 2001 on, the Swall Meadows Integrative Design Project, today functioning as the Swall-Institute.
In 2005, another ski for nature project in Kamchatka was started, and since 2008 we are engaded on Spitsbergen, the Arctic of Norway.
Ride for Nature
Ride for Nature is a new series of sustainable sport development projects launching in 2009. Here we focus on four season activities in fragile areas, such as water sports (windsurfing, kite surfing, diving and others) or mountain biking and other trail sports. Stay tuned for more background on summer tourism projects.
New partnerships
Telemarkzone is looking for new engagements both in our ski for nature and ride for nature programs, and we are open to other project ideas too. Please send us an email with your ideas, inquiries or brainstorms about sustainable sport tourism development in emerging wilderness areas.
Through our world wide network in science, capacity building, product development, tourism organizations and travel agencies we can design basically any kind of service, for example also tourism development plans for new national parks, trail systems and web GIS, and such alike.
